EuroSkills 2018 starts in Budapest

The delegation representing Tatarstan will take part in the events of the EuroSkills Competition to be held on 25-29 September in Budapest, Hungary. The Competition will bring together 600 Competitors from 29 countries. Six Tatarstan representatives became members of the Russian national team that will compete for medals in 41 skills. Moreover, 19 volunteers from the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 movement went to Budapest for an internship.

The WorldSkills Kazan 2019 exhibition stand will be presented at the EuroSkills venue. Attendees will have a chance to take a virtual tour of Kazan, see the presentation of the WorldSkills Kazan 2019 project, and take part in a workshop on cooking Tatar national dishes.

EuroSkills is the most widespread competition of professional excellence in Europe for young people under 25 held every two years in one of the 28 WorldSkills Europe member countries. The WorldSkills movement has existed for more than 70 years; however, competitions among European teams have been organized since 2008. The first European competition was held in Rotterdam, and the Swedish capital of Gothenburg became the host of the previous EuroSkills 2016. 

The 2022 edition of EuroSkills will be held in Saint Petersburg. The Russian city’s bid was approved unanimously by representatives of 28 member countries during the WorldSkills Europe General Assembly in March 2018. Russia will take up the baton from Austria that will play host to the Competition in Graz in 2020.
