Second leg of rugby europe women’s sevens Grand Prix series 2018 to take place in Kazan

Tatarstan’s capital city will play host to the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series for the fourth time in its history. Players from 12 countries are expected to come to Kazan this year. The current title holder, the Russian national team, will be one of the main contenders for the crown.

The competitions will be held at the Kazan Central Stadium for the second year in a row. The fans can see the matches of the decisive leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series on September 1-2.

The first leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series took place in the end of June and beginning of July in France. The hosting team was lucky to become the winner of the tournament. Team Russia finished second. These two powerhouses will compete for title of the continent’s best team here in Kazan. Such European countries as Ireland, Belgium, Wales, England, Spain, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Portugal and Poland will participate in the competitions, as well. The Russians are the reigning winners of the Series. Last year they won both legs, celebrating the final victory. Team England and Team Ireland finished on podium, too. Before the Central Stadium started to play host to the tournament, the Kazan leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Grand Prix Series used to be staged at the Tulpar stadium. Admission to the venue is free.
